FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I ONLY HAVE ONE TAPE

No problem! One tape transfer is $30. DVD copies are $5 a piece.

DO YOU TRANSFER OTHER TYPES OF TAPES?

Yes! In addition to VHS & VHS-C, I also transfer 8MM cartridge tapes, Mini DV tapes and Reel to Reel tapes. Please note that Reel to Reel transfers do not qualify for a volume discount.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN 75 TAPES?

If you have more than 75 tapes, we will have a consultation and work out a special price for you!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO TRANSFER MY TAPES?

It depends on how many tapes you have. Remember that tapes are transferred in real time. If the tape is 2 hours in length, it takes 2 hours to do the transfer to digital. I aim to deliver your files within 1-2 weeks, but this time can vary depending on how many tapes you have and how many other projects I'm currently running.

HOW DO I GET MY TRANSFERRED VIDEOS?

Each package comes with digital delivery via Google Drive. You also have a choice to get your videos on DVD.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

I accept cash (for local business) credit cards, check, PayPal or Venmo.

HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?

Upon start of the project, we require a deposit of 50% of the transfer price. After the transfers are complete, and the appropriate amount of DVDs are determined, the remaining balance will be paid upon pickup of original tapes, and any and all DVDs.

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

Due to the nature of the transfer, editing and mastering process, along with the process of creating DVDs, all orders are non-refundable.

WILL I BE CHARGED IF MY VHS TAPE IS BLANK OR CONTAINS NO USABLE FOOTAGE?

Yes, I charge a $3 tape inspection fee for blank or unusable tapes to cover the time spent checking them. I aim for transparent pricing and communicate all costs upfront.
